Cluttering the airwaves


I just purchased a new Intel 2915 wireless card with some of the money I got from my consulting work at COE. Although they (Intel) say this only works on centrino laptops, they lie. Running just swimmingly on my AMD Turion64.

Mother Russia


I finally took some time to take pictures of the sketches I made while I was in Volgograd, Russia from 1996-1997. That is how I relaxed from a stressful environment when I did not have my parent’s dock to sit on. They transferred just ok, but I thought some of you might enjoy them. You can compare some of them to photos of the actual monuments in that folder as well. All done with a mechanical pencil on acid-free paper.

What is that in the air?


Well, spring has definitely arrived. Pollen counts are through the roof. People are sniffling and generally miserable with allergies. And yet, nature manages to surprise me with the sheer beauty of new life after a long winter. I think having Anne been born in the spring has made me appreciate life in a new way. Spring beauty has a more visceral ache for me now. I see life in a new way. Not just the sticky, sweaty, Mommy-look-at-me way. Took this picture of the maple tree outside of our house. Most of the year it’s leaves are an unattractive purple-brown. But in spring, it’s this amazing vivd color.
